Truth no°2

I am never alone.
God is always with me and ready to help.

January 21, 2024

I am never alone. God is always with me and ready to help.

Passage

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Isaiah 41:10

Perspective

"I'm alone in this and no one can help me."

In the thick of my struggles, when the weight of the world has felt like it's on my shoulders, I've believed these words.

While there may be times in life where I'll find myself alone physically, I choose to believe a powerful truth that changes everything:

God is always with me and ready to help.

Not only is He present, He’s participating. And in my experience, he’s also proactive.

Meaning, He's working even before I think to ask for His help.

God doesn't do superficial pats in the back.

His words from way back then stand as a living promise for me today.

He is with me. He is holding me. And He will help me.

My job is simple:

Believe Him and don’t be afraid.

Practice

Remembering this truth when it's time to actually live it out isn't easy.

It's okay to feel afraid.

Especially if our feelings are heightened due to stress or legitimate danger.

Our nervous system was designed to counter stress through the "fight or flight" response.

Your brain perceives a threat and signals your body to activate its nervous system.

Adrenaline then rushes through your bloodstream, causing your heart rate to increase, your breathing to quicken, and your muscles to tense up—all in a matter of seconds.

Remember, it's okay to be feel afraid. But, as seen in Isaiah 41:10, we don't have to stay afraid.

The next time you find yourself overwhelmed, try slowing down your body's natural response by meditating on this truth:

God is here. He is holding me. He will help me.
